The largest update in the history of Prusament is here – we’re upgrading the Prusament spool. ✨ At the core of this upgrade is the OpenPrintTag – a fully reusable, open-source NFC tag that makes every spool smarter. It stores essential filament data directly on the spool, works offline, and is designed to be compatible across brands and ecosystems. In short, it’s a step toward a truly open and universal standard for 3D printing materials. Beyond the smart tag, the new spool design brings slimmer dimensions for better compatibility with a wide range of multi-color and multi-material printing systems, and a new locking mechanism for easy refill.
