0:00Hey guys, Eric Frank here from Performance Ag Indiana.
0:02Hey, we had a great meeting last Thursday. We had about 55 people there.
0:09A state senator, county council members, and county commissioner. Hey, their first meeting, I just want to let you know is tomorrow, July 14th at 6:00 p.m. at the neighborhood Center at 259 South Third Street in Frankfurt.
0:20The following meeting will be on Thursday, July 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Schools of Frankfurt, 2400 East Wabash Street in Frankfurt.
0:30Um, we had a great meeting, honestly, a couple of things I took away from that thing is.
0:35The last thing that I want to see is I want to see Clinton County tax dollars be taken away from Clinton County.
0:42And uh talking to one of the senators and starting to learn about how this would work more too is when they annex us, they can actually uh take funds that would be going to like the Sheriff's Department, to the fire departments of Ross for Coal facts, or people in our communities.
0:56They could really use that tax uh those tax dollars for the for everything else too.
1:02Um,
1:03there's nothing to say eventually they couldn't rewrite the school district to if if like Jefferson was in an area, if if Clinton, if the Frankfort City of Frankfort decided they were going to make that now Frankfort schools, they could actually do that too.
1:14There's nothing to stop them.
1:16I'm not saying they would, but they could.
1:18So, these are all things that we look at.
1:21And we need to understand that this will affect the county.
1:26Not just the area.
1:29Like I will be affected because I'm getting annexed, but this will affect the county and the tax dollars that go into uh county things, whether you know, um,
1:40whether it could be the 4H Fairgrounds, or it could be some other stuff like that, or like I said the fire departments or the Sheriff's Department, um all kinds of different stuff.
2:17So,
2:20Honestly, this just is not the right time.
2:23I would I would love to see uh the other thing too is is um,
2:32you guys vote for county commissioners, county councilmen, and these are the people we want making decisions on what's going on, not just we don't want the the city just to come in and say, hey, we're going to take this over and this is how we're going to do this.
2:52It's just not something I think's a good plan.
2:55They've got their their hands busy with everything else.
3:01They're doing a great job.
3:03Um,
3:07I I just don't think this is the right time.
3:11So, hopefully we can have a voice together, we can say, hey, this is just not the right time.
3:19If we want to do this in 20 years, 15 years, what's let's talk about that then.
3:25Um, but right now this is not the best move for uh Clinton County and the city of Frankfort, I just don't think they could even get it done.
3:44If they wanted to as far as if the county walked away tomorrow, they couldn't put the sewer pipe in there.
3:52In fact, the county is who's putting the water main in there right now so you guys will know.
3:57And what happens is basically the sewer and water.
4:02The people outside the city limit would pay 1.25 versus one.
4:08Um, so the city's still going to make money on this.
4:11It's just it's it's not the time to just say, hey, we want that and we want the tax dollars from it.
4:22So,
4:23come on out, let's see at the meetings.
4:27We love you guys.
4:30Stay safe, talk to you all later.
