Today as we continue to Celebrate Diversity, we want to recognize Jennifer Jagneaux, our Store Director in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Jennifer has been with our company for 19 years and has a passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Jennifer was raised in a middle-class Caucasian family and is married to her amazing husband, Jerome who is African American, together they have a beautiful 10-year-old daughter. Jennifer is a member of our Diversity Council and is a Co-Chair for the Women’s Inspiration and Inclusion Network (WIIN), she has also been nominated for the FMI’s Store Manager of the Year Award. When discussing diversity, Jennifer said this “I will never know what it feels like to be discriminated against based off the color of my skin, but the thought of the two people I love the most having to go through this is what drives me to push for Diversity and Inclusion every day.” Jennifer is an advocate for people of all cultures, ethnic groups and genders succeeding in life. Recently she shared this “At its core, DEI means fairness. Recognizing, respecting, and celebrating each other’s differences. It also means creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. This diverse, inclusive environment can only be created once we are aware of our unconscious biases. This will allow for an empowered culture of creativity and innovation. Throughout my career there have not been a lot of women in my district in my position. Over the course of the past year, I am astonished of all the women and people of color promoted to key positions in our company.” We honor and respect Jennifer’s contributions and experiences. Thank you Jennifer for sharing your voice and being an outstanding advocate of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.
